I am a self taught chef who is obsessed with creating beauty & expressing love through food. I spent one summer in Florence attending a culinary school and also completed my Holistic Health Coach program from The Institute of Integrative Nutrition. While I do not practice health coaching and never have, I love the knowledge and I infuse the concepts into all aspects of my work~ cooking included.
For me, cooking is the light. I moved up to the Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country during the pandemic, when I was upside down in many ways. I had just sold my first business - a Pilates & yoga studio in Newport Beach and in many ways, life as I knew it, had expired for me. I was forced to find a new path. Looking back, it was challenging, but it was also the most invigorating feeling & time ~ being able to start over in a place that felt so soft, electric and organic. I quickly did what I had always done ~ opened Pilates Studios ~ to ground me, but something else was calling my soul too. I started pouring wine on the weekends and booking live music at a local music venue. I loved the lightness, the artistry & the community. I also started cooking and realized that no matter what was going on, if I opened a cookbook and started looking at recipes, I would instantly relax and become inspired. If I was on a mental spiral, I had something to focus on. If I was depressed, I suddenly had energy. If I was stressed, cooking gave me hope. I would write down the ingredients, head to the market and when I got back in the kitchen, I’d light a candle, dim the lights, turn on some music and the magic of life would arrive. The inspiring thoughts & the feelings of love for everyone & everything. I was able to access flow state. It was different than what I had been used to ~ through dance and yoga, but it was the same feeling & vibration ~ Love, Hope, Beauty ~ the spirit simply running through me, telling me to keep going.
The journey continued and since then, I’ve had many opportunities to grow and expand and cook for people. It’s so much work and I absolutely love it. I cook universally, with all people in mind. My intention is to feed and nourish people’s bodies, minds and souls. I like to call it elegant soul food, with healing qualities. I always make sure to have at least a flower & a candle in my kitchen. I’m intentional & I really believe that the prayers in the kitchen ripple out into the world and make the world a better place.
